Haley says Trump's sexual assault accusers must be 'heard' and 'dealt with'

United Nations Articles, Photos, and Videos - Los Angeles Times

On Sunday morning during an interview on CBS's Face the Nation, Nikki Haley, the ex-governor of SC and the current U.S. Ambassador to the UN, temporarily broke from the administration's denial of sexual misconduct allegations against the president, by stating that those accusations against Trump "should be heard".

Haley said she was "incredibly proud of the women who have come forward". "And we should all be willing to listen to them".

She later added, "They should be heard, and they should be dealt with". Moore has been accused by several women of sexual misconduct, and still has the support of President Trump, who recorded a robocall on his behalf. "And I think any woman who has felt violated or felt mistreated in any way, they have every right to speak up".

Appearing Sunday on CBS' "Face the Nation", Haley was asked about the cultural shift resulting from the #MeToo Movement by host John Dickerson, as well as the recent resignations and allegations in Congress. And he faced another accusation this week as former Fox News anchor Juliet Huddy said Mr Trump tried to kiss her about a decade ago.

Haley spoke about Trump's accusers after praising women who have come forward with allegations about powerful men in various other industries.

During the 2016 campaign, more than a dozen women accused Trump of sexual harassment, claims that he recently dismissed as "totally fake news" and "made-up stuff".

More than 10 women have accused Trump of sexual misconduct before he was elected. "I'm proud of their courage", Haley said.

"I feel this issue has been "on hold" all year, but not forgotten", another accuser, Natasha Stoynoff, told People.

"I think it will start to bring conscience to the situation", the former governor of SC said. In court in NY this week, an attorney for the president said he was too busy and important to appear in a defamation suit brought by one of his accusers. Moore has repeatedly denied the allegations.

On the campaign trail, Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore is forging ahead despite accusations of making unwanted advances toward teenagers when he was in his thirties. Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has confirmed that to be the White House's official position.
