Vice President Mike Pence mocked by LGBTQ community at Colorado ski resort

Neighbors across the street from a home in Aspen Colo. where Vice President Mike Pence and his wife are staying draped a rainbow banner that said 'Make America Gay Again.'

Pitkin County Sheriff Joe DiSalvo told the Aspen Times that one of his deputies was present when a man emerged from his home and draped the banner over a stone pillar.

This isn't the first time that Pence's neighbours have taken it upon themselves to deliver a message of LGBTQ tolerance to the staunchly conservative Republican. In fact, some neighbors later came out to give the servicemen standing around in the cold some chili and corn muffins. The Secret Service removed the banner without incident and didn't charge Slade with any crimes.

'He was real sheepish and thought he might be confronted by the Secret Service or deputies who'd tell him he couldn't do it, ' DiSalvo told the newspaper.

"We're not here to control your free speech rights", one of the agents said.

He continued: "They've been really nice to us".

He has not commented on the banner. The stone pillar is situated at the end of the driveway between the two homes.

Pence's spokesman, Mark Lotter, told The New York Times previous year that the vice president does not support conversion therapy, and that his campaign statement was misinterpreted.

In 2006, Pence supported a constitutional amendment that would have defined marriage as between a man and a woman.

Now it seems even more of Mike Pence's neighbors are getting the same idea.

Vice President Mike Pence and his wife have spent the past week at their residence in Aspen, Colorado.

Pence is a Christian conservative who, as governor of IN, attempted to amend the state's constitution to ban same-sex marriages IN 2014. To keep all of that money in Indiana, Pence had to amend the bill to make it a bit less homophobic.

According to a New Yorker report in October, President Donald Trump joked that Pence wanted to "hang" all gay people in a meeting with a legal expert.
