Fight with Jio: Airtel updates Rs 448, Rs 509 plans

Now avail 1 GB data everyday on Reliance Jio's Rs 149 plan

Sources are saying that Reliance Jio will cut the prices of its plans with 1GB data per day by up to Rs. 60 as part of a new Happy New Year 2018 offer. Notably, Airtel has revised its Rs 448 and Rs 509 prepaid plans to take on Jio, which now come with a longer validity period.

The Rs 399 plan will get a boost in validity, the plan that used to offer 1GB data for 70 days will now provide 84GB data for 84 days.

This plan revision comes just a couple of days after Reliance Jio announced ₹50 off on some of its prepaid plans while also offering 50% more data on some other prepaid plans.

Besides, the plan also offers free outgoing and incoming on national roaming calls, and 100 free local + STD SMS per day. In total, the plan offers 98GB total data with a validity of 28 days.

If you are not keen on this 20% extra validity but more interested in extra high-speed data per day, the company has another plan for you. Importantly, it brought down the entry price of 1GB a day data plans to ₹149 for 28 days, the lowest in the industry, which will likely force its rivals to match up, hitting their average revenue per user. Airtel has increased its validity from 84 days to 91 days. The validity of this plan will be 70 days. In short, customers can avail 1GB data per day in addition to unlimited calling and SMS for that duration.

Jio's Rs. 499 prepaid plan will be available at Rs. 459 after getting a price cut of Rs. 50. Users looking to opt for that offer should ideally hold back till 9th Jan to get the best of both worlds. FUP or daily data limit is 1GB.

Rs 198 plan: Jio now offers more data on this.

If the users recharge with Rs 498 recharge pack, they will get 136 GB of data, as compared to 91 GB data provided earlier. It will now compete against Airtel's Rs 509 plan which also offers same amount of data.
