Portia De Rossi Gives Ellen DeGeneres The Most Memorable 60th Birthday Gift

Ellen DeGeneres Shared the Sweetest Photo for Wife Portia de Rossi's Birthday

Ellen has been celebrating her birthday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show all throughout the past week.

Ellen DeGeneres has gotten quite a few incredible gifts for her birthday. She told the audience to look beneath their seat for a box of Cheerios, and if they found one, they would receive a special surprise.

Recognizing some of these acts of good, DeGeneres gave shoutouts to Kenya and John Hughes, who used their own money to drive a U-Haul 800 miles to deliver aid to Hurricane Harvey victims.

Dian Fossey, a conservationist, has always been one of Ellen's heroes. For example, audience member Lori Gaines was a teacher who donated a kidney to the mother of a student. But for one incredibly lucky studio audience, they left with way more than that-they each left with a share of a $1 million gift from Ellen.

The campaign has been in conjunction with Cheerios, and to present the day's gifts, she brought out a giant box of Cheerios.

'It's your 60th birthday and this gift had to be really special and it had to represent who you are and what you really care about, ' Portia explained.

DeGeneres said in a statement Thursday that she is "beyond excited" about the opportunity to work with the group.

She continued, 'Thanks to every single person in this audience, it is filled with goodness and we have reached one million acts of good because of all of you.

"You're all gonna share this gift", she added. She also set up a foundation called The Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund so the busy entertainer can support any animal cause she wants. She's already celebrated with famous friends and earlier, she had another surprise guest.

"When we got married, Portia's line was, "It's good to be loved, [but] it's profound to be understood".

"Ellen, you will carry on Dian's legacy by giving them a permanent home in Rwanda", said de Rossi.
