Battle Royale Game 'Fear the Wolves' Announced, Coming 2018

Fear of the Wolves is a new post-apocalyptic battle royale game from the developers of STALKER

The fashion of the Battle Royal games is all that it gives, so Focus Home Interactive and Vostok Games, creators of S.T.A.L.K.E.R., announced the development of Fear the Wolves for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Players will have an "original and intense game mode that will bring a fierce new twist on the genre" to look forward to.

In traditional fashion, players will be able to play solo, or with a squad, as they are dropped into the oppressive environments of radiation infested Chernobyl.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has inspired tons of new battle royale games to pop up over the past year due to its success.

Not much to go on beyond that, however more is set to be revealed at Focus' What's Next event in Paris this week. Along with a day-night cycle, this constantly forces survivors to adapt their strategies, and players can find protective gear that allows them to explore risky off-limit zones.

It's called Fear the Wolves and it sounds suitably grim and scary.

This project is about a first-person shooter that will take us to a post-apocalyptic world. Fear the Wolves is going to come to PC via Early Access later this year, and will hopefully also launch on unspecified consoles before the end of 2018. But as well as everyone else on the map, players must consider other threats such as deadly anomalies and the dynamically-changing weather.

Vostok Games also mentioned "mutated creatures" lurking around the wastelands of Chernobyl but we have no idea of the role they will be playing in actual gameplay.
