Chelsea open talks with Luis Enrique

Pressure on Conte as Chelsea crash in EPL

Proclaiming himself as "The Special One", Mourinho lifted the league title (Chelsea's first in 50 years) and also the Football League Cup in his debut season.

The Daily Telegraph say Abramovich will not allow player power at Chelsea to decide whether or not Conte stays.

However, Roman Abramovich has sacked Chelsea managers after achieving success in the past.

The Chelsea owner canvassed their opinions, and disgruntlement within the squad led to the departures of Luiz Felipe Scolari, Andre Villas-Boas and Mourinho during his second spell with the club.

Miguel Delaney, writing in The Independent, reports that there is some discontent within the Chelsea squad.

The ex-Barcelona boss is now without a job, and endured a fine tenure at the Nou Camp, winning two League titles, three Copa del Rey trophies and won the Champions League in 2015. But, again, things may change if the next few results don't go well.

Although Chelsea insist no discussions have taken place over replacing head coach Antonio Conte, Enrique has emerged as the favourite to succeed the Italian.

Chelsea face West Brom at Stamford Bridge on Monday evening, which may not seem like the most intimidating fixture but does have ominous overtones.

But reports believe that Conte may have a chance at keeping his job after Abramovich knows that his "trusted players" are not at the club anymore.

Journalist Eduardo Inda told Spanish transfer program an El Chiringuito that if Conte was axed then former Barca boss Luis Enrique would be first in line for the Chelsea hotseat and would look to bring Suarez with him.

Conte's pay-off, however, is reported to be in the region of € 30 million and the contract of the Italian tactician expires at the end of the season. If this is true, it would explain why Conte seems very relaxed about his future.
