Galaxy S9 rumored to cost around $100 more than the S8

The Galaxy S9 leak looking lovely in lilac

And it's going to cost about a hundred bucks more than last year's Galaxy S8, according to the latest anonymous report from the mobile industry.

Samsung is yet to release the Oreo update for any of its devices but the folks at SamMobile are reporting that the company has at least started working on the Android 8.0 update for more devices. Samsung has hinted that the camera will be the main focus of the Galaxy S9, and the leaked images depict one model with a single camera, and another with a dual camera system, which should enable the kind of depth sensing found on Apple's iPhone 8 and iPhone X devices. It's too early to comment on how it will or won't work, but we'll keep you updated as soon as we get any news about it.

The site further speculates that the change could also be to better position the range as an alternative to the iPhone X.

You probably don't remember this, but Samsung's very first 6GB RAM smartphone was exclusively launched in China shortly after the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, bizarrely combining that astounding memory count with a mid-range Snapdragon 653 processor. However, considering that the launch date is set for February 25, fans can expect more information to be released in the coming weeks.

Reports from Gizchina state that Samsung is looking to move on from the S Series moniker when it introduces the Samsung Galaxy S10 next year.

With a few weeks left before the official launch date of the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S9, the rumors have taken a different direction, this time focusing on the potential cost of the upcoming flagship smartphone. It says Galaxy S9 might start at a price of GBP 789 (roughly Rs. 70,700) in the United Kingdom, and, presumably, $850 (roughly Rs. 54,500) in the US.
