Devin Nunes Wants to Build a Literal Wall Around His Democratic Colleagues

Report: House Intel Republicans Want to Build a Literal Wall Between GOP, Dem Aides

With the revelation, reported by CBS News on Thursday, that the committee's Republican majority staff will soon be separated from the Democratic minority staffers on the committee by a wall - literally, a physical barrier separating public officials from each other - members of both parties are saying Nunes has destroyed any spirit of collaboration the committee once enjoyed.

Congressional Republicans want to build a wall separating GOP and Democratic staffers on Capitol Hill, a new report says. "You've got to talk to Devin". I think we all remember how that went under Republican Sen.

"The level of trust is just gone", Rooney said, adding that "certain things definitely suffer", like how to fund and conduct oversight over intelligence agencies.

Rep. C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger (D-MD), who has served on the Intelligence Committee for the past 12 years, said the planned wall is symbolic of the total deterioration of the House Intelligence Committee. "I don't know what they're trying to do one way or the other".

Some Republican committee members were quick to declare that they knew nothing about the proposed wall.

On Monday the HSCI voted to release a memo by Rep. Adam Schiff on the same subject, written in response to the Nunes memo.

The GOP memo, released publicly earlier this month, alleges surveillance abuses in the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Justice Department, accusing them of anti-Trump bias.

The White House is now reviewing the Democratic countermemo, which reportedly offers evidence disputing claims in the GOP memo and will decide by the end of the week whether to block its release.

Various Republicans have claimed that Democrats are pushing the boundaries of the House's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election because of political motivations, while Democrats argue the Republicans have leaked information in an attempt to help shield President Trump from the FBI's Russia probe.
