All-round Australia sweep into tri-series final

David Warner has scored only 10 runs in two matches in the ongoing tri-series

The hosts continued their ideal T20I run to make it to the tri-series final which will be played in Auckland on February 21. They also played the 3rd match of the tournament which was against Australia.

Jos Buttler - 8/10 - It was a case of rebuilding when Buttler came to the crease, hence why the wicketkeeper batsmen scored at less than a run a ball.

Glenn Maxwell works the ball away as Australia cruised home to victory over England. Most of their players were failed and so, they did present a poor score in front of the Aussie team.

Kane Richardson collected the pick of the figures, taking three for 33 as he topped and tailed the 20 overs, while all-rounder Marcus Stoinis got through his allocation for a miserly 18 runs.

Jordan (2-26) returned to dismiss Maxwell (39) but it was little consolation for England, whose defeat was confirmed when Aaron Finch (20no) bludgeoned back-to-back sixes off Willey.

Chris Lynn - 7/10 - Called into action in the first over of the innings, Lynn attacked the England bowlers; consistently finding the boundary and not being afraid to hit over the top.

Glenn Maxwell, who scored a stunning century in the five-wicket triumph last time out, top scored again for his side with 39 as the hosts chased down England's 137-7 easily. Australia's T20 fortunes have taken a decided turn for the better; Warner and company will hope they stay that way after the flight to New Zealand.

"We didn't quite soak up the pressure early on with the bat and then we never really kicked on".

Buttler and James Vince tried to stem the rot with a 36-run stand over the next six overs before the latter was bowled by a full length slower delivery from Tye.

But England got off to a dream start as Willey had danger-man Warner caught behind from the third ball of the innings on just two. The strategy worked. Australia's collective bowling effort throttled England at 137 for 7 in 20 overs. Richardson took three and Stanlake took two wickets for England so far.
