AAP, MLA thrashed Delhi's chief secretary at Kejariwal's residence

2 AAP MLAs arrested in CS assault case

Earlier in the day, the Chief Secretary lodged police complaint and alleged that he was manhandled at Kejriwal's residence by two lawmakers of the ruling AAP - Ajay Dutt and Prakash Jarwal.

Prakash and his colleagues met home minister Rajnath Singh later on Tuesday and filed an FIR accusing AAP MLAs of punching him during the meeting at Kejriwal's bungalow. "The CS's spectacles also got broken", the senior IAS officer, who did not wish to be named, claimed. The investigation is in its initial stage and there are no plans of questioning Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, said Additional DCP, North, Harendra Singh.

Meanwhile, the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Association made a decision to maintain only formal written channels of communication and not meet anyone post office hours or talk over the phone. He demanded the police to reveal where they have kept the MLA.

Top Delhi government bureaucrats from IAS and DANICS cadres came to work on Wednesday with black ribbons on their arms to protest against the alleged attack by AAP MLAs on the Delhi government chief secretary.

Reports quoted DCP Madhur Verma as saying that Amanatullah Khan was detained at around 11.30 am in connection with the investigation of case regarding the assault on the Chief Secretary. However, the chief minister's office rubbishes the accusation as "bizarre and baseless", but government officials are enraged, demanding an apology from Kejriwal and strict action against the legislators involved. "Police should at least tell us where they have kept Jarwal", Chauhan said. The officers riposte on Tuesday by allegedly beating up city minister Imran Hussain and AAP leader Ashish Khetan at the Delhi secretariat.

"The Chief Minister directed me to answer the MLAs and explain the reasons for the delay in the release of the TV campaign. The association urges for quick, strong and deterrent action to teach a befitting lesson to perpetrators of this crime, however highly placed they may be", he added.
