Snow forces NASCAR to postpone races at Martinsville until Monday

Cup, Truck series races at Martinsville Speedway delayed to Monday by snow

Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race in Virginia was moved to Monday due to snow.

Martin Truex Jr. will lead the field to green when the race begins.

Brad Keselowski won this race a year ago. The remainder of the 250-lap event will be run after Sunday's Cup race, with an approximate start time of 7 p.m.

Bowyer, who led a combined 36 laps the last three seasons, took the lead away from stage-two victor Ryan Blaney on lap 285 and led the final 215 laps for his first win since the 2012 Bank of America 500 - 190 races ago. Both races have been rescheduled for Monday, beginning with the Truck Series. While Harvick had been in another stratosphere compared to the rest of the Cup Series for three-straight weeks, his teammates weren't too far behind. Martinsville Speedway has mostly unpaved parking lots over a series of rolling hills, creating additional hazards; majority were still covered by snow on Sunday morning. He looked at his 3-year-old son and said him he wanted a picture of them celebrating in victory lane. I was wondering how we were going to lose this race and that was going to be how we lose. The race was halted after 23 laps.

"He (Harvick) just got to me and I think bumped me three or four times", Hamlin told Fox Sports after the race.

"I thought once we got to heavier lapped traffic that's when I would pour it on try to catch up", he said.

"The last two runs of the race we were really strong, particularly the run right before the last caution", Truex explained.

After hanging around the top 10 through the first two stages Monday, Bowyer jumped out to a sizeable lead at the start of the third stage and didn't relinquish it the rest of the day.

We come here to win each and every week and we've been right there, we've been second-best a lot but we just haven't been able to close the deal and get the job done.

Clint Bowyer finished second in the stage and almost caught Blaney on the final lap.

"It's where you want to be", said Truex, who's never won in 24 starts at Martinsville.

"The only bad memories are, really, it just kind of unraveled our chance to make the final four, to be honest with you".
