Odell Beckham Jr. Being Pursued By LA Rams

John Mara

Shurmur met with Beckham in Los Angeles earlier in the offseason when he ventured to California to visit college prospects.

For new Giants head coach Pat Shurmur though, he isn't paying much mind to the swirling rumors that have suddenly engulfed his team. Beckham has threatened not to play this season if he doesn't get an extension.

The Giants could conceivably trade Beckham, although it's unclear what kind of return they could expect. Mara would not discuss any contract talks regarding Beckham, who is heading into the final year of his rookie contract.

Furthermore, while Mara did say the Gaints are "certainly not shopping" Beckham, he also said that, given New York's 3-13 record last season, no player is "untouchable".

"I think it's important that you get all the information, " Shurmur said of the video.

McVay on Monday expressed confidence his new players would fit into the culture of the team and cited the history and reputation of Wade Phillips when he said that "the defensive coordinator has more swag than all of them, so we'll be in good shape".

General manager Dave Gettleman is attempting to pull off a delicate balancing act, maintaining leverage in potential trade talks while refusing to publicly acknowledge or deny that Odell Beckham is available for the right price.

Speaking at the National Football League meetings, Mara said he is not angry with Beckham, who recently was seen in a video in bed with a woman and what appeared to be white powder, though the timing of the video and its content is uncertain.

Odell Beckham Jr.is the latest big name tied to the Rams, amid mounting media speculation the Rams might pursue a trade for the New York Giants' talented, two-time All-Pro receiver.

'Neither Odell nor his agent have contacted us regarding either report, ' Gettleman said, as quoted by ESPN. He had 288 receptions, 4,122 yards and 35 touchdowns in his first three seasons before last year's injury. "Hypothetically, I think a player of his caliber can really do everything". We want guys that understand the importance of relationships, which means they want to be coached.
