2 Fort Campbell soldiers killed in Apache crash

The US Army says a military helicopter crash killed two troops at the Fort Campbell training grounds in Kentucky late Friday.

No one else was injured in the crash.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The crash is the latest in a series of similar incidents involving US military aircraft that began on Tuesday.

The 101st Airborne Division said in a release on Saturday the soldiers were with the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade.

'This is a day of sadness for Fort Campbell and the 101st Airborne, ' Brigadier General Todd Royar said.

He said 'our thoughts and prayers are with the families during this hard time'.

Two Navy aviators were killed on March 14 when their F/A-18F Super Hornet crashed on a training flight in Florida.

A Maritime jet crashed in Djibouti on Tuesday.

Four Marines also died when a helicopter crashed during a training mission in Southern California. The pilot ejected from the plane before impact and survived the crash.

On Wednesday, a U.S. Air Force pilot using an travel Thunderbirds exhibition squad died when his F-16 fighter airplane crashed at Nevada.
