Russian envoy in London asks for meet with UK Foreign Secretary

Scotland Yard published statement of Yulia Skripal

On April 5, UK's police stated on behalf of Yulia Skripal who said she "woke up over a week ago now" and is glad her strength is "growing daily". He also insisted Russian Federation would not have used the "dangerous and highly public" method of nerve agent if it had wanted to kill someone; instead, he pointed to the "hundreds of clever ways of killing" people used in the TV series Midsomer Murders. Russian Federation has sent home the same number of those nations' envoys.

Moscow has fiercely denied its involvement in the nerve agent attack and expelled an equal number of envoys. Referring to Yulia, he said, "She might talk and converse, but what we don't know is if she will go back to where she was before the event, not just about cognition, but there's other aspects that could be affected, like mobility, problems with mental state, anxiety, depression, there are so many unknowns".

Britain has blamed Russian Federation for the March 4 poisoning of Sergei Skripal and his daughter.

One theory shared on Russian social media is that the Skripals were the victims of a vengeance attack by the mother of Yulia's live-in boyfriend, who reportedly has ties to Russia's security apparatus.

Yulia and Sergei Skripal were found slumped on a bench at an outdoor shopping precinct in the English city on March 4.

The Foreign Office did not immediately comment on the report.

The embassy later issued a statement wishing the Skripals "get well soon" and expressed hope that their recovery will "contribute to the investigation".

Lavrov, speaking on a trip to Belarus, said British officials have engaged in "frantic and convulsive efforts to find arguments to support their indefensible position" instead of producing evidence.

Russian Federation "is not responsible" for the attack in Salisbury, that country's Ambassador to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia, said, stressing that the origin of the substance used in the incident has not been confirmed. She said the call was recorded because she has an app on her phone to keep track of all the calls she makes for work.

A Russian spokeswoman brought up the Skripals' cat and guinea pigs directly, Wednesday, when the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons convened a special meeting to address the incident. Regrettably, "two guinea pigs had sadly died" by the time someone entered the home to see about the animals, the statement said, and "a cat was also found in a distressed state and a decision was taken by a veterinary surgeon to euthanize the animal to alleviate its suffering".

"Overall, it is hard to avoid the impression that the animals have been disposed of as an inconvenient piece of evidence", the Russian embassy claimed. "Didn't notice the pets of a person who was poisoned with nerve gas?!"

"Such a refusal is not clear for me as they both, according to the official statements by the United Kingdom side, feel good", Yakovenko was quoted as saying in the statement. She acknowledged that some might think it a joke to raise this.
