MANHUNT: Grandma accused of killing husband, woman at Florida bar

Family says woman was murdered by friend who stole her identity to hide from police

The seven-second video clip was aired Monday morning on NBC's "Today" show.

In the video, a smiling Riess is wearing a light blue shirt and has white/gray hair. Deputies believe Riess may have targeted Hutchinson because they look alike, and she may have assumed her identity.

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office will continue to work with the Minnesota BCA, US Marshals, and the Lee County Sheriff's Office in Florida to locate and apprehend Riess.

Investigators said that Riess stole her credit cards, cash and auto.

Surveillance footage shows Riess chatting with Hutchinson at a bar. She is also wanted on grand theft charges for allegedly stealing $11,000 from her husband's bank account after his death, but she has not yet been charged in his murder. She smiles, yet she is a coldblooded killer.

The victim's vehicle was last spotted in Texas. Riess' 2005 white Cadillac Escalade was found abandoned in a Florida park.

The dead woman's purse had been emptied out, sheriff's investigators said.

"She was very kind and sweet, everybody was a friend of hers", said Daniele Watts Jeffreys, a cousin from Richmond, Va. Hutchinson was divorced and didn't have many immediate family members. Anyone who sees her should call 9-1-1. After that, Hutchinson was constantly reaching out to other relatives to stay in touch and check in whether by phone, text message or social media.

The two, seen together at a Fort Myers Beach restaurant, became friends. "That's really the only thing that could resonate with my system.it's just evil that flowed through".

Murder suspect Lois Riess.

Police believe Riess killed both victims with the same gun, and may still have it.

His wife could not be found.

The obituary for David Riess was published last week, and mentioned his children and grandchildren, but not wife.

Riess is believed to have traveled through the Gulf coast states to Corpus Cristi, Texas, but her current whereabouts are unknown.

She had left Iowa by the time police tracked her there in late March, the BCA said.

The story has gained national attention, appearing on various media outlets including CBS Evening News with Jeff Glor and Inside Edition. Legal documents said that Sanchez suffers from bipolar disorder and clinical depression, as well as Parkinson's disease, and has the cognitive level of a 10-year-old. "She hates being alone herself".

Lois Riess had left town by then. She has not yet been charged in that case.

In recent days, however, the search for Riess has gone cold.

Riess remains on the run and is armed and unsafe, Marceno said. "As quick and as safe as possible".
