Bill Cosby prosecutor 'filled with awe' after his guilty verdict

On Thursday Cosby was found guilty of all three counts of aggravated indecent assault

The Cosby case is the first high-profile sexual assault trial to unfold in the wake of the #MeToo movement and is sure to have many other high-profile abusers very, very anxious. "I couldn't say anything", she said. "Am I awake? It's a miracle".

On April 26, Invoice Cosby was convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand.

'We are so happy we can finally say women are believed and not only on #MeToo but in a court of law, where they were under oath... where they testified truthfully, where there were attempts to discredit them and after all is said and done, women were finally believed.

Some women who say they were also assaulted by Cosby believe he should spend time in prison.

Former federal prosecutor David Axelrod, now in private practice in Philadelphia, agreed that Cosby's team has a shot at convincing an appeals court that the judge went too far.

Cosby angrily denied he has a plane and called Steele an "a-hole", shouting, "I'm sick of him!" No sentencing date was set.

Amid all that talk outside the courthouse, Cosby did not speak. She said she was "slut shamed" on the stand by Cosby's legal team, but that she "just sat there and got mad".

Shrieks erupted in the courtroom when the verdict was announced, and some of his accusers whimpered and cried.

It had been four years since the Las Vegas teacher came forward with her allegations that 80-year-old comedic legend Bill Cosby had drugged and raped her inside the Elvis Suite at the Las Vegas Hilton in 1989.

Attorney Gloria Allred, who represents 33 women who made accusations against the actor, shared a statement outside the court following the verdict.

After Thursday's verdict, District Attorney Kevin Steele apologized to Constand on behalf of the prosecutor's office for not filing charges.

When she came to, she said Cosby was penetrating her vagina with his fingers, groping her breasts and making her masturbate him. "He used his celebrity, he used his wealth, he used his network of supporters to help him hide his crimes".

She adds, "There is no doubt in my mind, that now we know Bill Cosby is a serial rapist, he is probably the biggest rapist in United States history, maybe the world because the head count is 90 women".

U.S. comedian, Bill Cosby, is to be placed under house arrest following his conviction on three counts of aggravated indecent assault, a judge ruled.

Even before the verdict, more than 20 colleges and universities across the US had revoked honorary degrees from Cosby in light of allegations against him.

Clearly, this wasn't going to be your grandmother's Cosby trial any more.

The actor's lead lawyer has indicated Cosby will appeal.

Walking into the Pennsylvania courtroom this month, Lotte-Lublin said she felt nervous to testify in front of Cosby. Constand sued Cosby after prosecutors initially declined to file charges, settling with him for almost $3.4 million over a decade ago.

Cosby is free on $1 million bail. He also admitted giving Quaalude, a powerful sedative, to young women so he could have sex with them.

Cosby became famous in the 1960s years, thanks to the television series "I spy".

In the aftermath of the verdict, many are wondering if Cosby will serve time in jail. He also found success with his "Fat Albert" animated TV show and appeared in commercials for Jello-O pudding.

Later in his career, he attracted controversy for lecturing about social dysfunction in poor black neighborhoods, railing against young people stealing things and wearing baggy trousers.

And as our ideas about victims and sexual assault changed radically and with a speed that not even Chuck Yeager, the man who broke the sound barrier, could have anticipated, so did our requirements for due process. Constand has done so.
