Cavs' LeBron James not concerned about fatigue coming into series vs. Raptors

A third meeting in three postseasons. Let’s get

Toronto claimed the number one seed in the Eastern Conference for the first time in franchise history.

The bright lights of the post-season can prove too much for a first-timer - think Terrence Ross in the Raptors' playoff series against Brooklyn in 2014.

Like most of his teammates, Love struggled in the first game of the season against Toronto, but he was very good in the next two - doubling-up in each victory, averaging 20.5 points and 13.5 boards in those contests. It's impossible to expect the Cavs to play this poorly again, but when you hear how the Raptors lost two games late in the season to the Cavs remember this game.

In 2016, the Cavaliers defeated the Raptors in six games in the Eastern Conference Finals on the way to their first-ever NBA Championship, and a year ago, Cleveland swept through Toronto in the East Semifinals ahead of a third consecutive trip to The Finals.

#LeBron James played over 40 minutes of basketball in every game of the first round series against in, minus game six which he rested from in the fourth quarter. The pressure is on Toronto for now; let's see how the underdog Cavs perform. In game 5, LeBron blocked a potential Pacers' game victor, before nailing the eventual game winning 3 at the buzzer. The Cavaliers came out on top behind the mega efforts of LeBron James.

The Raptors had 79 points at the half in Cleveland in this game (March 21st).

Yet there was no denying the boost that the Cavaliers, most of all James, received at the beginning of the fourth quarter with a 10-2 spurt that Cleveland assembled without him.

But James, who at times seemed to be playing the Pacers by himself in the series, pulled the Cavs back from the brink of elimination and at least delayed any more talk about impending free agency.

"I just think in Game 7, go with the guys who've been here, who've been through it all and know what it takes", Lue said. James led the way with another huge performance putting up 45 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and four steals. George Hill was 10 of 11 from the field and had 22 points. "Every step of the way we're going to come across somebody". For the fifth-year guard, this series was a strong success and litmus test for his bright future. James then played the first 35 minutes before heading to the locker room with one minute left in the third to be treated for what he said was "a little minor injury". The Raptors pick up the win at home.

Another team that LeBron terrorized for the better part of the decade is the Indiana Pacers.

"I want to go home", he said. Even Jeff Green had 15 points in this game. The favoured exact result is Raptors in both five and seven games at +300. Behind him in points is Kyle Lowry, who is throwing down 17.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists. DeMar DeRozan chipped in 16 points, Jonas Valanciunas had a double-double with 14 points plus 12 boards and Pascal Siakam added 11 points with eight rebounds off the bench.

The Toronto Raptors have never made the NBA Finals.

Cavaliers are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 vs. Cleveland is a much deeper team than Washington was. The team got next to nothing from the majority of its rotation in the series as Love sputtered, shooting just 33.3 percent in the series. NY desperately needs a shot in the arm for the run game; they haven't finished with a top-10 rushing season in eight years. These guys aren't expected to play a lot in this series. They were fortunate to get here, in part due to a free throw disparity in Game 7: they were 31 of 40 while in was 19 of 24. Nance added just a point, but contributed four rebounds.

"That's the Tristan that we know", James told cleveland.com. Toronto has plenty of depth and they have the ability to run and gun their way out of holes and into the win column.

With the return of Fred VanVleet the Raptors bench will easily outmatch the Cavs. But, can they take down the reigning Eastern Conference champs, the Cleveland Cavaliers.
