Dragon float in Disney parade caught fire

Malificent Dragon Float

This is what happens when someone plays with fire.

A Maleficent-themed float in the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade at the Walt Disney World Resort's Magic Kingdom park caught fire mid-parade Friday afternoon, ABC Action News reports.

In a video shot by a Disney visitor, the dragon - representing "Sleeping Beauty" character Maleficent - appears to be in the theme park's Liberty Square area, with its head bobbing and flames growing.

In the usual performance of the parade, the dragon's head shoots a blast of fire from its nose, timed to the parade's score.

"Poor Maleficent the dragon set on fire during the Festival of Fantasy Parade yesterday", one Twitter user tweeted about the unfortunate accident. An employee is usually stationed inside the mechanical dragon, sitting near the base of the neck, but no one was injured in the incident.

The paper reported that Disney is investigating what went wrong.
