Android messages will let you send and receive SMS from your computer

Android Messages for Web

Google has today rolled out Guest Mode, Daily Limit, Unused Apps and Wi-Fi Map features to the Datally app for Android to enhance the user experience further. Google has been working on the desktop version of its Android Messages; an app that lets you send and receive messages on your phone. The company announced that it would begin rolling out Messages for web starting today, with the full rollout completing over the next week.

Google is bringing Messages to the web so you can send and receive texts from your computer.

If you're an Android user, keep in mind the links between Android Messages on your Phone and the web might not work quite yet, depending on your location. The service can be setup in a way similar to WhatsApp Web. Curiously, there is no integration with Chromecast yet, so you won't be able to cast a show to a Chromecast-equipped speaker. To enable the feature, people need to open Android Messages app on their smartphone, tap the "More options" menu and select "Messages for web". Google recommends staying connected to WiFi in order to save your mobile data while using the desktop service.

Much like the implementation of this feature in Gmail, Smart Reply offers up response suggestions based on the message received using AI.

As of writing, only the Android Messages website is live with the QR code scanner on mobile devices to follow soon.

Hot on the heels of an accidental leak, the official Google Podcasts app has made its way to the Google Play Store. To access the new GIF search feature, just tap the + button on the left side of the compose bar. The ability to preview links inside the conversations is also added.
