Called as Samsung Electronics facility, this massive plant is spread over 35 acres of land in Noida Sector 81 area.

Earlier today, Samsung announced the opening of the "world's largest" mobile phone manufacturing facility as it aims to expand production in world's fastest growing smartphone market. Out of 120 mobile factories, 50 are in Noida only.

The new Samsung factory will have the capacity to fabricate 120 million smartphones per year, and make everything from low-end smartphones that cost under $100 to the company's flagship S9 model, according to the company.

Samsung just opened the world's largest mobile phone factory in India on the outskirts of Delhi. "Samsung's small and mid-sized suppliers can leverage the opportunity and create more jobs for Indians...2,000 new jobs will be generated in this plant", Mr Moon said, adding the Korean government will provide all necessary support in this journey.

Samsung factory is key to India-Korea relations, stated Modi.

India overtook the United States a year ago to become the world's second-largest smartphone market after China. "Now, this manufacturing unit is also coming here", Modi was quoted as saying. The South Korean President, who is on a four-day visit to India, was accompanied by first lady Kim Jung-sook, senior members of his cabinet, officials as well as industry captains.

"Whenever I talk to business community representatives I always mention one thing - that I don't think there is a middle class home in India where a Korean product is not found", he added. The Samsung's new unit is also expected to create employment for more than 5000 people.
