Liverpool make offer for Roma's Alisson Becker but no fee agreed

Liverpool bid for Roma keeper Alisson - Article

The future of Alisson could be in Liverpool.

It's been known for months that Liverpool's top target is Roma 'keeper Alisson Becker but it had been suggested that the asking price for the Brazil worldwide would make a deal unlikely.

Loris Karius has already made errors in pre-season.

Real Madrid, Chelsea and of course, Liverpool are in the race to sign the South American custodian. He was named in last season's UEFA Champions League squad of the season.

Courtois's time at Chelsea could be up in the Blues land Alisson.

Alisson's valuation by Roma is more likely to be met by Chelsea.

Having been linked to Brazil's Alisson earlier in the summer, it now looks like the Spanish giants have elected for Courtois instead.

They want in excess of £66m for his signature.

Since the start of 2018, Liverpool have been strongly linked with an approach for the Brazil global due to the inconsistent form of both Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet.

Klopp defended Karius in the wake of his calamitous display in Kiev, claiming he was suffering from concussion.

Liverpool have always been found suspect in between the sticks, with their choice of keeper often costing them points when it matters most.

This particular transaction, if it happens, would be record setting as Roma shot stopper Alisson Becker could become the world's most expensive goalkeeper. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has given a few a few public votes of confidence in Karius, but the goalkeeper continues making mistakes in preseason.

But the deal is far from done with Chelsea ready to pull the trigger on their approach.
