'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again' review: Sequel is a seaside confection

Mamma Mia Here We Go Again

"Mamma Mia!" star Amanda Seyfried revealed her husband, Thomas Sadoski, had some reservations about the 32-year-old actress starring alongside her ex-boyfriend in the upcoming sequel.

Yes, let's get it out of the way now - the Donna Sheridan (Meryl) of present day is no longer with us.

The plot follows on from the first film, which grossed over $600 million at the box office, but this time has flashbacks explaining how Meryl Streep's character Donna arrived in Greece.

Thankfully, her mother's best friends, Tanya (Christine Baranski) and Rosie (Julie Walters), are on hand to allay Sophie's nerves.

It's not clear when the album is set to drop but fans are thrilled with the news.

Not only did they pose for pictures but the two also shared a kiss.

The pair's relationship goes way back to 1983 when they starred alongside each other in the drama Silkroad, which was Cher's first ever movie.

It's the album we didn't know we needed.until now. Her energy is contagious, her charisma is infectious, and her singing was not half bad! Now, she's accepted all three men as adopted dads, and she's reopening the hotel after her mother's death (yep, there's nearly no Meryl Streep here).

"It was great, and she was hiding watching me sing, and I was so excited".

Truthfully, I wasn't invested in the present day story at all until the last 15 minutes, where things really stat to pick up.

The number itself is staggering, but it's not hard to see how she earned it. Cher has been working diligently in the spotlight since her teens. But I won't spoil that for you.

But as Cher told Entertainment Tonight, "I just thought it was cool". "And it feels good".

The sequel's cast additions include Lily James, who plays the younger Donna, and Cher, who portrays Donna's mother.
