Trump at rally makes false claim on photo IDs for groceries

Donald Trump raised eyebrows after claiming that American shoppers need to present ID if they wish to buy groceries.

"If you go out and you want to buy groceries, you need a picture on a card, you need ID", Trump told the crowd.

'Trump says you need an ID to buy groceries.

On the social media platform Twitter, the immediate reaction to Trump's comments ranged from bewilderment to ridicule - with many, including the CNN reporter who covered the rally, Jim Acosta, noting that photo ID is not required to purchase groceries in the United States.

Trump also praised DeSantis, a Palm Coast Republican congressman looking to replace term-limited Gov. Rick Scott (R). The Democrats are not voting for what we want to do.

Scott was also endorsed by Trump in his bid to defeat Sen.

The president referred to his efforts to get Congress to approve more funding for a border wall, and the prospect of a partial government shutdown in the fall over the issue.

The president's rally begins at 7 p.m.

The ad then features home videos of DeSantis, one of eight Republicans competing in the August 28 primary, parenting with a pro-Trump flair.

"After a while, you forget who's the senator", Trump said, adding that he wants to make sure Scott "wins and wins big".

His appearance alongside DeSantis comes after the candidate released a new campaign ad for the gubernatorial race, featuring his entire family's devotion to all things Trump.

While the reasons for the early arrivals are plentiful, many said they're there to show support for the president.

Trump, in railing against the idea of allowing noncitizens to vote in some elections, said at the rally, "Only American citizens should vote in American elections". "But we are turning it around".
