Student poster prank in Texas McDonald's goes unnoticed for nearly two months

Students’ Fake McDonald’s Poster Goes Unnoticed for 51 Days

The fake advertisement was hung up on July 13, and after 51 days, Maravilla thought it would be a good idea to share their mischief with the world.

"Look around. There are literally no Asians on these walls", he says as he points to other pictures on the walls. His friend, Christian Toledo, 25, moved to U.S. a couple of years ago from the Philippines.

"All the other posters were in natural environments, like a city or at the beach, so we went to our local event center", he explained.

Jevh Maravilla just wanted an order of fries, and to see more Asians on the posters at his favorite McDonald's.

Jevh says he was anxious his parents would be cross but they were so amused they visited the restaurant and posed for photos with it.

Start the day off right with a viral prank at the expense of no one but a major American corporation.

"I really hope they'll never take it down", he said in the video.

They then ordered a giant poster to their home and planned their prank.

They even found a McDonald's shirt at a thrift store and dressed up as employees.

"It fit me perfectly", he said.

Jevh M. shared how it all came together in a YouTube video.

As of Tuesday morning, Maravilla told USA TODAY the advertisement was still hanging in the restaurant.

McDonald's Franchisee Mariselle Quijano said in a statement to InsideEdition.com: "We take pride in highlighting diversity in every aspect of our restaurants".

Maravilla hopes maybe he'll have a future in modeling for McDonald's campaigns. "We applaud these students" creativity and hope to see them in our restaurants again soon'. It was unclear whether McDonald's knew the poster's origins or if the eatery would allow it to remain.
