3 areas Philadelphia Eagles need to improve after Week 1

Fantasy Football 2018: Thursday Night Football Start Em, Sit Em Week 1

Falcons safety Keanu Neal left in the third quarter with a knee injury and did not return, after first hurting the knee in the second. After receiving the opening kickoff and marching the ball to the one-yard line, the Falcons were stuffed on three successive plays by the Eagles defense, eventually turning the ball over on downs.

The game was originally expected to begin at 8:20pm local time (1.20am UK) but eventually got underway at 9:05pm (2.05am) after a 45-minute delay. The Falcons added two field goals as well.

The group shut down Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons again in their season opener and now have a few extra days rest before hitting the road next week.

In Thursday night's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Jones hauled in 10 passes for 169 yards. It was also the same end zone at Lincoln Financial Field. Just because the Eagles are defending champions doesn't necessarily mean they're guaranteed to have plenty of success in 2018, and if they don't improve in certain areas following Thursday's game against the Falcons, the team could be in for a long season. Eagle cornerback Ronald Darby was able to make the defensive stop. Atlanta challenged the incomplete pass ruling, and the play was subsequently upheld. Their defense did an fantastic job tonight. The rest of the offense accounted for 119 yards. Even with different parts, the end result was very similar with Foles catching a crucial pass that proved to be a difference-maker in a tight game. The Patriots really did draw up the ideal play in the situation and if Brady had been able to catch that pass, they would've picked up a fresh set of downs. Outside of Jones, the Atlanta offense had a dismal night, though.

Running back Jay Ajayi scored two touchdowns tonight ensuring Philadelphia's victory tonight.
