Samsung is trolling Google over the notch on its new Pixel phone

The latest in the long line of Pixel phones is Pixel 3 which was revealed yesterday.

Why it matters: When the Pixel buds launched a year ago, they came with two new features: Google Assistant baked right in, and an exclusive translation feature that uses Google Translate to have a conversation in real-time. However, contrary to a popular trend where two, three, four or even five lenses are fast becoming the norm, the Pixel 3 XL comes with a single lens rear camera of 12-megapixel resolution.

Google unveiled the smartphones Tuesday late evening at an event in NY.

Here in the USA, the new Pixel 3 phones will be offered by Verizon, Project Fi, and unlocked. Additionally, the Pixel 3 lately with a price tag of CNY 4,999 (roughly Rs. 52,800).

Google did have an e-store for its products previously, but has since switched its strategy to selling its hardware products on specialized e-commerce platforms as well as offline through key retailers.

At Google's "Made by Google" keynote, the team announced the highly anticipated Google Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL. Unless Google wants every Google Pixel 3 XL user to hunt for the option in developer settings and even then be offered a solution which isn't full-proof, it should work on something more than just another work-around and potential buyers would be hoping for that.

The most exciting of the new features coming to the old Pixel phones is probably Night Sight.

The official unveiling in NY had few surprises. These could be the three colour options of the Pixel 3 models.

The controller, which extends for use and collapses neatly when not, grips your phone like a vice (hence the name) and connects through USB-C to avoid any patchy connection issues a standard bluetooth pairing method could bring. The interesting about Google's recent event is that no one ever mentioned the word "Android" at least once. Pixel Slate ($ 599) is based on the Chrome OS operating system and not on Android, and has a removable keyboard similar to Microsoft Surface.

Showing off their brand new camera technology, Google showcased pictures that left us stunned and marvelling at their quality and clarity.

Both the tablet and the smart display are available in a few markets, including the United States and Britain.
