Saudi Arabia vows response if Khashoggi case triggers sanctions

Companies cut ties with Saudi Arabia over Jamal Khashoggi's disappearance

Mr Trump indicated earlier this week he was reluctant to pull out of a multi-billion-dollar United States weapons deal with the Saudis to show White House anger if the missing journalist was killed by the Saudis. Russian Federation wanted it, China wanted it, we wanted it.

"What about Jamal Khashoggi?" she wrote in response to a tweet by Trump in which he said he said he had been "working very hard" to free an American evangelical pastor who has been held for two years in Turkey.

Richard Blumenthal about the situation and he said that WWE and all other business should reevaluate their relationship with Saudi Arabia.

However they have not presented any evidence to corroborate their claim and say that video cameras at the consolate were not recording at the time.

Later at the White House, he reiterated that there would be "powerful consequences" for Saudi Arabia.

"Had I known it would be the last time I would see Jamal, I would have rather entered the Saudi consulate myself", she added.

Meanwhile, a Saudi delegation arrived in Turkey for talks, officials said on Friday, with the case risking fragile relations between Ankara and Riyadh.

Kudlow on "This Week" underscored Trump's saying that the being "very tough" in its investigation of what happened to Khashoggi, who has recently been living in the USA and who went into the consulate for documents he needed to get married.

The joint team will investigate the disappearance of Khashoggi upon the kingdom's request, Presidential Aide Ibrahim Kalın said last week.

A spokesperson for the conference told Reuters that they still plan to go ahead with the event despite the disappointing news that some speakers and partners had pulled out.

U.S. president Donald Trump warned on Saturday of "severe punishment" for Saudi if it did murder Khashoggi. Benchmark Brent crude is trading at around $80 a barrel, and Mr Trump has criticized OPEC and Saudi Arabia over rising prices.

"They are ordering military equipment", Trump said.

DIplomatic sources told the United Kingdom broadcaster on Sunday that both the US Treasury Secretary, Steve Mnuchin, and the UK's International Trade Secretary, Liam Fox, might not attend the Future Investment Initiative (FII), often referred to as 'Davos in the Desert, ' following reports of Khashoggi's murder after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on 2 October.

Turkish authorities recovered the audio from Khashoggi's iPhone and his iCloud account, the newspaper said. The journalist had given his phones to his fiancée before entering the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul on October 2.

Turkish officials have not answered queries from European journalists about Khashoggi's Apple Watch.

Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist and permanent USA resident, had fallen out of favor after previously enjoying close ties with the Saudi royal family.

Reports say that the USA and Britain are considering boycotting a major global conference in Saudi Arabia after the disappearance.

However, the de-facto Saudi ruler's regime has also been linked to the suspected killing of the government critic at the consulate in Istanbul on Tuesday.

Saudi and Turkish officials have not yet commented on the Sabah report.
