Broncos' Chad Kelly arrested for criminal trespassing

Denver Broncos backup quarterback Chad Kelly was reportedly arrested early Tuesday morning in Englewood, Colorado on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespassing.

According to the arrest affidavit, a woman named Nancy Lozano was sitting on a couch near the front door, holding her young child, when the man entered the house. The man, identified as Kelly, was then placed under arrest. Marco showed Your Affiant security video of the front of his house which identifies the male as a white male wearing dark trousers, a white long sleeve shirt with a brown vest and a red scarf around his neck.

He has since posted a $2,500 bond and was scheduled to have a court appearance on Wednesday morning.

Chad Kelly was taken to the Arapahoe County Jail on a charge of 1st-degree criminal trespass, police in Englewood, Colorado said in a statement. "We are in the process of getting all the facts and talking to Chad, and then we'll figure out exactly which direction we're going to go".

Kelly is no stranger to trouble and that is the main reason he fell all the way down to the final pick of the 2017 draft.

An official release from the Englewood Police Department states that officers responded to an address in the 3200 block of South Lincoln St., at approximately 1:17 a.m. The home's occupant chased the man out of the residence and responding officers searched the area, police said.

Kelly committed to Ole Miss in December 2014 and was named a starting quarterback his first year there.

"We're obviously very, very disappointed in Chad and the situation that he put himself into", Elway said on Orange and Blue 760 Radio according to

Kelly beat out Paxton Lynch for the Broncos' backup quarterback job over the summer.

According to a KDVR report, police say Chad Kelly had no alcohol in his system at the time of the incident. He subbed in for Case Keenum amid "Kelly" chants to kneel out the time remaining in the first half. "Irrelevant." He missed all of last season with an injury.

Elway, who played in the National Football League at the same time as Jim Kelly, remains close friends with the former Bills QB.
