Police Investigate Suspicious Package Addressed to Robert De Niro in Tribeca

Secret Service: Suspicious packages sent to Clintons, Obamas

Other packages sent to prominent Democrats Wednesday also listed a return address for Wasserman Schultz's South Florida office.

Police have sent the package to a secure facility in the Bronx, New York Police Department Commissioner James O'Neill said on Twitter.

A bomb squad unit has since removed the package from the Tribeca Grill in Manhattan.

NYPD Lt. Thomas Antonetti told CNN that the package was received at 375 Greenwich Street and that the bomb squad is on the scene.

Packages to Biden were found at two different post offices, one in New Castle and the other in Wilmington.

The building was evacuated after the package was found and has now been re-opened, according to Tribeca Enterprises co-founder Jane Rosenthal. Over in DE, two packages addressed to former VP Biden surfaced at separate postal facilities.

Former CIA Director John Brennan, prominent billionaire Democratic Party donor George Soros and California Representative Maxine Waters, an outspoken critic of Trump, were also targets.

The Associated Press, citing a source, reported that a second package addressed to Joe Biden was found at a DE postal facility.

On Wednesday night, Gov. "Do not hesitate to call; no piece of information is too small to help us in this investigation".

"I've been governor of NY for seven years, I've faced many terrorism situations, and this works on multiple levels". "Let's get along", he said. "Second, especially in NY, you want to retain a sense of control, you want people to know that you're acting and you're acting appropriately and they're safe".

There is speculation that De Niro's political views may be the impetus for his being targeted.

"The building is open and everybody is safe", she told CNN. The station said a maintenance worker at the building called police after seeing the news from Wednesday and remembering that he had handled a similar package the day before.

Trump said: "Any acts or threat of political violence are an attack on our democracy itself".

Very early Thursday morning, President Trump appeared to indirectly address speculation that his own incendiary rhetoric against the media may have inspired said perpetrator.

The CNN bureau in NY received a package addressed to Brennan, who has appeared as a CNN analyst, leading police to evacuate the Time Warner building in a busy Manhattan neighborhood near Central Park.

The series of bomb alerts began on Monday, when explosive devices were sent to locations in NY, the Washington DC area and Florida, authorities said on Wednesday. The devices were made from PVC pipe and covered with black tape.

Several politicians, including Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell and NY mayor Bill de Blasio, described it as an act of terrorism. "All New Yorkers have a responsibility to pay attention to what's going on around them".

They targeted Hillary Clinton, former President Barack Obama, CNN and others.

The Secret Service launched an investigation to find the source of the packages.

"We are fine, thanks to the men and women of the Secret Service", Clinton said.
