India Thrash Windies by Nine Wickets, Clinch Series 3-1

Opting to bat, the visitors suffered their first setback in the opening over when Bhuvneshwar Kumar produced a fine outswinger to claim his 99th ODI wicket in the form of Kieron Powell (0). Windies definitely up their game when it comes to ODI cricket but India become an even more formidable side in ODI cricket at the comfort of their home.

India vs West Indies, 5th ODI match will be played on November 1, 2018. Clinical with both bat and ball in the last couple of games.

Leading 2-1 in the five-match series that also included a tie, India have faced just a little resistance from the visitors who were back to square one in the 4th ODI where they lost by 224 runs.

The hosts wasted no time in completing the 105-run target after the bowlers laid the foundation of a massive victory. The other change saw West Indies beef up their fast bowling at the expense of a batsman - India amassed 377 in the fourth ODI - with Oshane Thomas replacing Chandrapaul Hemraj. We have to be consistent, a lot more consistent to beat the best teams.

Jadeja, who turns 30 next month, picked up 4-34 as the West Indies batting line-up capitulated for 104 inside 32 overs after captain Jason Holder won the toss and opted to bat at Thiruvananthapuram. That set the ball rolling for a Windies procession.

Any semblance of hope West Indies had was over when Holder allowed an edge from Kohli to burst through his hands at first slip when the batsman, who scored three consecutive centuries in the series, had made only four.

Samuels' resistance ended in the 12th over when he fell to a soft dismissal of Jadeja for 24, spooning a catch to skipper Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli congratulated Indian team and his boys to win the series. He was the top-scorer with 25.

With the northeastern monsoon in full cry, the match could well end up shortened as the the weatherman has predicted a brief thunderstorm in the afternoon and late evening.
